Indigenous Wines of Dalmatia –
Babić and Plavina
The indigenous wines of the Šibenik wine-growing region are produced under unique natural conditions that shape their character, strength and distinctive identity. Stony soils, a Mediterranean climate and proximity to the sea create an ideal environment for the production of our wines.
Piližota Winery focuses on two key grape varieties of the Šibenik wine-growing region – Babić and Plavina. Depending on vineyard sites and grape selection, these wines are produced as premium wines and quality wines.
Babić Wine
Babić is the most renowned indigenous wine of the Šibenik wine-growing region.
This distinctive red wine is deeply connected to the stony soils where the vine thrives amid the demanding conditions of intense sunlight, wind and scarce soil.
It is characterized by warmth and harmony, a deep ruby colour, soft and ripe tannins, pronounced aromas of dark fruit and spices and a strong structure with excellent aging potential.
Thanks to its authenticity and recognizable character, Babić is considered one of the most important Croatian red wines, highly valued on both the domestic and international markets.

Plavina Wine
Plavina is an indigenous wine of Dalmatia, present in the Šibenik wine-growing region for centuries. In the surroundings of Šibenik, it reveals its finest expression – a harmonious combination of lightness, authenticity and terroir.
It is characterized by elegance and freshness, easy drinkability and an aromatic profile of red fruit with subtle earthy notes.
As a wine for everyday enjoyment and exceptionally well-suited to gastronomy, Plavina has long been recognized and appreciated among lovers of natural and varietal wines.
