VINIFICATION
Plavina grapes are grown in vineyards around Šibenik, where the Dalmatian climate helps preserve freshness and a pronounced varietal character. The harvest is done by hand, followed by a classic fermentation lasting 7-10 days in open stainless steel tanks. The young wine is aged in stainless steel tanks until the first racking, after which it matures for 6 months in 225-liter French oak barrels. Once optimal maturity is reached, the wine is bottled in 0.75 L bottles.
DESCRIPTION
Plavina Piližota represents an authentic Croatian wine made from the indigenous Plavina variety, a traditional Dalmatian grape known for its drinkability and elegance. The wine is characterized by a ruby red color and expressive aromas of red fruit, sour cherry, and subtle notes of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, fresh, and well-balanced, with pleasant acidity and soft tannins that make it exceptionally easy to drink. It carries the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), confirming its Dalmatian origin and quality. Plavina holds a special place in our winery, as it combines tradition, approachability, and a recognizable Dalmatian style.
SERVING
Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled. It pairs excellently with Mediterranean cuisine, lighter meat dishes, risottos, cheeses, pasta and oily fish.
