Thanks to perseverance and work, we succeeded in this intention, and since 2010 we have been the first producers of indigenous wines Babić and Plavina.
Our winemaking story
Piližota Winery is the heir to a longstanding family tradition of viticulture and wine production, deeply rooted in the Dalmatian way of life - where the struggle for survival and the desire for progress intertwine with a passion for crafting noble wines.
The Šibenik wine region has long been known for its viticulture and we carry on this legacy through the production of premium indigenous red wines - Babić and Plavina.
Since the restoration of our family winery in 2002, our goal has been to unite traditional and modern approaches to winemaking. This includes cultivating vines without pesticides, maintaining low grape yields per vine, hand-harvesting, fast grape processing, fermenting and aging wines in a modern wine cellar.
After establishing a strong presence in Croatia, a major challenge was introducing our wines to the USA.
Thanks to persistence and hard work, we succeeded and since 2010, we have been the first producers of indigenous Croatian Babić and Plavina wines for the US market. Today, we distribute most of our wines there, to one of the most important global markets.
